Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation is a popular cosmetic procedure to improve the size and shape of a woman’s breasts. It is usually sought by women who want to improve their body image. There are two main types of breast implants available: silicone gel-filled and saline-filled implants, the former being more popular. The two basic breast implant shapes are round and teardrop; both come in many different sizes and profiles. Both types of implants give good results but for some patients, the teardrop shaped implant may look more natural.

Breast augmentation surgery helps women to achieve a more proportionate body shape and correct breast asymmetry. This enhances your body image giving you more confidence in your self-image. Breast augmentation surgery is by far the most popular cosmetic surgery sought after by women.

There are currently two types of breast implants that are popular with women today. Please click on the links below for more information on the implants.

Breast Lift (Mastopexy)

Breast lift (mastopexy) is a cosmetic procedure that corrects the droopiness of breasts following childbirth or aging. A breast lift surgery is suitable if a client’s aesthetic needs is to improve the shape of the breast. The procedure may involve the repositioning of the areola and nipple, the removal of excess skin and the lifting of breast tissues.

As there is usually significant loss of breast volume, most patients would benefit from breast augmentation with implants at the same time.

Breast Reduction (Reduction Mammoplasty)

Breast reduction (reduction Mammoplasty) is a cosmetic procedure that helps women with excessively large breasts or breast asymmetry. This procedure involves the removal of excess skin, fat and glandular tissues. It can help women achieve a better proportioned figure overall and alleviate the symptoms caused by heavy breasts. The incisions involved are usually similar to those in a breast lift procedure.

Gynaecomastia Surgery

Men with gynaecomastia suffer from excessive breast development during puberty which may be hormonal in nature. Gynaecomastia may also be caused by certain drugs and diseases. Gynaecomastia can cause stress and anxiety for men who may feel embarrassed by this condition. They may feel uncomfortable when undressing in public or even in the privacy of their own home, and often wear loose fitting clothes. This procedure can help restore confidence in these male patients by helping them attain a firmer, flatter chest appearance that one would normally associate with masculinity.

The surgical procedure for breast reduction in men may involve the removal of fat, skin and glandular tissues from the breasts depending on the severity of the condition. In cases with mild excess skin, liposuction may be used to liquefy and remove the fatty issues.

Upper & Lower Blepharoplasty

One of the most common issues that men or women seek for surgery is puffy or baggy eyelids. Blepharoplasty is the plastic surgical term used to describe surgical correction of the upper or lower eyelids. Eyelid surgery can help reduce saggy upper and lower eyelid skin and correct the bagginess of the lower eyelids. It can help you look younger, fresher, less tired and may reduce the appearance of dark circles. However, it will not remove the wrinkles at the corner of the eyes, which will still require treatment with botulinum toxin. If you can sunken cheek as well, dermal fillers are recommended to enhance further the results after your surgery. Another common request is the creation of double eyelid crease in patients who have single eyelids.

Most problems can be dealt with by excision of excess skin and fat. The incisions are placed carefully in the correct crease location for the upper eyelid. In the case of the lower eyelid, the incision can be on the inside of the eyelid (if no excess skin is present) or more usually just underneath the eyelash line. For some patients who may have significant drooping of the eyebrow, a brow-lift may be beneficial.

There will be some light bruising and swelling which will resolve over two to three weeks. Eyedrops will be prescribed as necessary if you developed some irritation after surgery.

Facial Feature Enhancement
(Nose and Chin Implant)

Nose and chin augmentation involves implant techniques to achieve a better-defined shape of the nose and chin. It is a process that can dramatically enhance a person’s facial appearance by balancing the nose and chin with the rest of the face.

Clients can choose from natural or artificial implants; each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Nonetheless, they are all designed to alter the underlying structures of the intended areas and provide younger-looking and better-balanced facial features.

Rhinoplasty (nose surgery) is a cosmetic procedure that changes the shape or size of a nose. The most common procedure is the augmentation of the nose with a suitable implant which may include additional procedures for tip refinement and nostrils reshaping. For tip refinement, the open approach is necessary where an additional inconspicuous incision is made across the columella.

Chin augmentation is a cosmetic procedure to refine and improve the facial proportion for people who have a small chin. By augmenting the chin, the overall facial contour and facial proportion is enhanced to give a more aesthetic and balanced appearance.

Otoplasty

Otoplasty is a cosmetic procedure to enhance the appearance of a person’s ears. This is commonly done to correct protruding or prominent ears. The procedure may involve the reduction and reshaping of over-prominent ears, and repositioning of the ears closer to the head (ear pinning).

An incision is made in the back of the ears to expose the ear cartilage. The ear cartilage is then reshaped and sutured in place. A dressing has to be worn in place for one week to maintain the shape of the ears.

Liposuction

Liposuction is a cosmetic procedure to remove fat from specific areas of the body, such as the buttocks, thighs, abdomen, chest and arms. A vacuum device is used to liquefy the fat which is then suctioned out from selective parts of the body to create a better-contoured shape. The result depends on the quality of the skin. If there is too much skin laxity from the beginning, there may be excess skin folds that need to be surgically removed.

Liposuction is especially successful in removing those resistant fat bulges that do not go away with dieting and exercising.

Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)

Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) is a cosmetic procedure that improves the firmness and shape of the abdomen by removing excess skin or fat from the lower abdominal areas. The muscles and fascia of the abdominal wall is tightened during the procedure. This can also remove stretch marks on the lower part of the abdomen. The procedure is commonly used to overcome a protuberant abdomen caused by pregnancy or a sagging appearance after major weight loss.

If there is only a mild laxity of the lower abdomen with a lower abdominal bulge, this can be corrected with a mini abdominoplasty. For the more protuberant abdomen, a full abdominoplasty is usually required. This procedure alters the body shape to a more pleasing and aesthetic shape and proportion allowing you to be able to fit into a shapely dress.
